How Much Does It Cost?

At the time of writing this post, July 2025, the Clipsal Iconic range starts at approximately $8 per unit for a single-gang switch and $10 per unit for a double-switched socket outlet. These prices do not include the labour required to install the equipment, and more needs to be allowed per item for multi-gang switches, 15A outlets and specialised items such as stove isolators, weather-protected equipment and fan switches. Installation of each item can take 5 to 10 minutes, provided there are no pre-existing issues that require additional time to resolve. For larger jobs, up to an hour also needs to be allowed to scope the materials required, pick up materials from a wholesaler, unpack and set up for the job and pack up and clean up when the work is complete.

Replacing light switches and power outlets in a typical 3 bedroom home to include a mix of single, double, tripple and four gang light switches, fan switches, appropriately rated light switches for the bathroom and ensuite, 20 double switched socket power outlets, a couple of weather protected external outlets and a 15A power outlet (provided its just a replacement and not an addition) will cost in the order $2000 – $2200 including GST.
